Bushrangers 2026/27 Tryouts
Are you interested in representing the North East Victoria region as part of the Bushies team? Then tryout and show us what you’ve got!
The NE Bushrangers Basketball 2026/27 Tryouts will be held at the Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre (BIRC) and conducted across two stages, providing an opportunity for new and returning players to be considered for the upcoming VJBL season.
Friday 2 October – New & Developing Players
This session is for:
Players new to the NE Bushrangers
Players who participated as Development Players in the previous season
Players who participated as Training Partners in the previous season
10:00am – Under 14 Boys & Girls
12:00pm – Under 16 Boys & Girls
2:00pm – Under 18 Boys & Girls
Following each session, players will be shortlisted and invited to attend the Final Tryout alongside returning Bushrangers players.
Saturday 3 October – Final Tryout
The Final Tryout will bring together returning Bushrangers players and players shortlisted from Friday’s sessions.
10:00am – Under 14 Boys & Girls
12:00pm – Under 16 Boys & Girls
2:00pm – Under 18 Boys & Girls
The Club will aim to make team selections following these sessions where possible.
Wednesday 7 October – Additional Final Tryout, if required
Where selectors require an additional opportunity to assess players or finalise team selections, a third and final tryout will be conducted.
5:00pm – Under 14 Boys & Girls
6:15pm – Under 16 Boys & Girls
7:30pm – Under 18 Boys & Girls
Players required to attend this session will be advised directly by the Club.
Tryout Process
The staged format is designed to provide every player with a fair opportunity to demonstrate their ability while allowing coaches and selectors to assess players effectively.
Stage 1 – Friday 2 October
New players, previous Development Players and Training Partners.
Stage 2 – Saturday 3 October
Returning Bushrangers players plus players shortlisted from Stage 1.
Stage 3 – Wednesday 7 October, if required
Additional assessment and finalisation of team selections.
Players should arrive at least 20 minutes before their scheduled session to register, prepare and be ready to commence on time.
