Bushies is dedicated to providing athletes with opportunities to enhance their skill set and realise their basketball aspirations, so is incredibly excited to launch the North East Bushrangers Academy in 2026, made possible via grant funding from Sport and Recreation Victoria.

While all Bushies players participate in weekly training sessions, development is largely focused on how they learn and interact as a team. Just as important is the growth of the individual player, supporting them to improve their on-court decision making and personal skill-set.

This program is the first of its kind in the North East and will be critical in improving athlete performance and adding value to our dedicated teams.

Bushies Director of Coaching, Brett Harvey, will lead a range of local coaches complemented by specialist training programs with high-profile coaches from outside of the region, who will further diversify the training and development opportunities provided to players.
